Join us on Sunday mornings as we study Ekklesia: The Unstoppable Movement of God. What is the Church to you? Is it a building in which you worship? Or, is it the movement that unites all Christ-followers together? Regardless of how we see ourselves as the Church, followers of Jesus should return to the biblical record in order to walk through the story of the birth and early years of what Jesus called “My Church.”

Gospel in Community

So you’ve probably been hearing about the Life Groups that have begun meeting from within our Singles Ministry. At least, I hope you have! And if you’ve not joined one yet, there are still groups forming weekly, so it’s not too late to join in. Life Groups were birthed out of a vision by those in our ministry who want to do more than just brush shoulders on Sunday mornings. The reality is, life wasn’t meant to be lived in isolation–and the Gospel wasn’t meant to be simply an intellectual pursuit. For the Gospel of Jesus to be effective in our lives, it must be shared in community with other Believers.

Life Groups

It was very exciting to see many familiar and new faces at Life in Community! What an encouraging, yet challenging evening! Landon Dowden poured a foundation for the coming-endeavor in our Singles Ministry. Life Groups!! Landon’s message began, centered and concluded with the Gospel — how meditating on the different aspects Christ’s atonement enables us to rightly love God, and rightly love others. Loving God, and loving others with a Christ-centered, Biblical love is essential to experiencing life in community with other Believers.

Many signed-up, requesting more information about Life Groups–and we are close to launching groups for those who expressed interest. If you were unable to attend Life in Community, and are interested in joining a Hunter Street Singles Life Group, please contact me!

The MAPP Ministry is sponsoring a series of Wednesday night prayer times that focus on specific work in which Hunter Street is involved. For each focus area , a member of the MAPP Ministry Leadership Team will be facilitating the prayer for each particular area — the facilitator has personally been involved in work with the people group or city/country.

Join us Wed, 9/22, after Bible study from 7:30-8:30 in the Fireside Room! This Wednesday we’ll be praying for London/Stockholm.

What is axp?

axp, the new name for our Singles Worship events, stands for authentic experience. The meaning behind axp is multi-faceted. I’m no longer hoping for our worship experiences to be a pep-rally…a firing-up and sending out the troops.

My hope, my prayer, is that axp will become our coming together for corporate celebration. Instead of being challenged to go-and-do, we’ll be celebrating what God is doing! We’ll be able to celebrate because we’ll already have been challenged in our Life Groups! We’ll already have been obedient to live God’s Word. And we’ll be reaping the blessing of God’s faithfulness!
